Research Engineer (201808-RD-10)

Description

The Research Engineer/Scientist will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team in the development of new membrane materials. Duties will include fabrication and characterization of gas separation membranes, operation of laboratory test equipment, analyzing laboratory data, presenting findings at group meetings, contributing to project reports, supporting the scale up of membrane production on commercial equipment, and assistance in support of field demonstration units.

Requirements

A BS or MS degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry is required. No experience is required, although prior work in polymer chemistry or with membranes is preferred. Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to work closely with other team members to achieve group goals is a must.

Membrane Technician - Temporary (201803-MFG-04)

Description

Under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing, the Membrane Technician performs tasks related to the manufacture of membrane for use in commercial projects.  This position is also responsible for the maintenance and operation of the equipment required to accomplish this.  In addition, this position will weigh components for dope solution, prepare coating solutions from master batches; setup and clean casting machine and coaters; stamp test membrane process QC samples and sheeted membrane, characterize substrate; coat, cast, sheet and dry membrane; prepare leaf sets for rolling elements; mix casting dope solutions (large and small mixes); maintain rolled and sheet membrane inventory.

 
Requirements

This position requires a high school education or equivalent GED; ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.  Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness.  A minimum of six months prior experience in a manufacturing environment.

Fabrication Technician - Temporary (201803-MFG-03)

Description

Under the direction of the Director of Manufacturing, the Fabrication Technician performs tasks related to the manufacture of spiral wound elements and the maintenance and operation of associated equipment.  Duties include cutting and marking permeate spacers, cutting feed spacers, prepare hardware for installation, prepare product tubes for rolling.  Patch/repair, fiberglass, box and crate elements, take physical inventory counts, weigh out and mix rolling adhesive, prepare membrane envelopes, roll and trim elements, weigh out fiberglass adhesive.

 

Requirements

This position requires a high school education or equivalent GED.  A minimum of six months prior experience in a manufacturing environment.

Senior Research Engineer/Scientist (201808-RD-11)

Description

The Senior Research Engineer will work with a multi-disciplinary team in the development of new membrane products. Duties will include developing and executing work plans, fabricating and characterizing membranes, analyzing laboratory data to understand underlying phenomena, presenting findings at group meetings, writing project reports and new proposals, developing membrane and module scale up procedures and supporting operation of field demonstration units.

Requirements

A PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline with a specialization in membrane science is required. No prior work experience is required. Excellent problem solving, written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Ability to work closely with other team members and project partners outside MTR to achieve group goals is a must.

Sales Engineer (201808-COM-11)

Description

Under the direction of the Business Development Manager, the Sales Engineer is primarily responsible for designing and selling MTR’s customized systems. Responsibilities include simulating processes, sizing equipment, getting quotes, estimating total job costs and preparing proposals; developing leads, qualifying inquiries; developing PFDs, reviewing P&IDs and control narratives; process optimization. The Sales Engineer will interface with MTR’s customers and vendors, make sales calls as a team with other MTR employees, make presentations to customers, take feedback from customers and make modifications to proposals.

Requirements

This position requires a BS in chemical engineering or a related science and some prior work experience (one to two years) is preferred. In addition, knowledge of the petrochemical, natural gas and refining industries is a plus.
